The Department of Geography and Rural Development, of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, KNUST, is hosting this year’s Ghana Geographers Association 2019 Annual Conference. The conference, which is under the theme “Smart Cities in the 21st Century: the Geographers Perspective” takes place from 6th to 10th August, 2019, at the Evans Anfom complex, CCB, near the Faculty of Social Sciences. The grand opening will be held on Wednesday, 7th August, from 9 am to 12.30 pm, under the distinguished chairmanship of the Provost of the College, Professor Imoro Braimah. Hon. Cecilia Dapaah, the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, will be the Special Guest. Keynote speakers are Professor K.K. Adarkwa (former Vice-Chancellor, KNUST); Professor K. Barimah-Antwi (UCC) and Dr. Toni Aubynn (former Chief Executive of the Ghana Chamber of Mines). The conference hopes to come out with modalities for creating smart, healthy and livable living environments for sustainable development of Ghana and Africa as a whole.
